Funding

Universal Funding

Every single child aged 3 and 4 is eligible for 15 hours funded childcare. If your child is 3 or 4 years old and lives in England, you’re entitled to 15 hours funded childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year (school term time), this equates to a maximum of 570 hours per year. You can use the hours from 1st January, 1st April or 1st September following your child’s 3rd birthday.

Working Families Funding

All children from the age of 9 months old could be eligible for 30 hours funded childcare if you are in work and earning on average 16 hours per week on the minimum wage or below £100,000 per year.

If you are a couple this applies to each of you so if one of you is not working or earning over £100,000 per year you will not be eligible. Eligibility criteria is set by the government and further information and application details can be found at https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/

If you are eligible you’re entitled to 30 hours funded childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year (school term time), this equates to a maximum of 1140 hours per year. Once your child reaches 9 months old you can use the hours from the following 1st January, 1st April or 1st September.

Parents must apply from HMRC via Childcare Service Account before the Early Years Funding can be claimed. The parent is responsible for re-validating the eligibility every three months when reminded by HMRC. Failure to do so may result in the Working Families Funding being withdrawn.

How we offer Early Years Funding

Whilst the Government funding is structured for 38 weeks of the year (school term time), as an all-year-round childcare provider we stretch the early years Funding across 46 weeks instead of limiting it to the 38 weeks of term time. The 6 weeks unfunded are:

First 2 full weeks in April (remaining open)

Final 2 full weeks in August (remaining open)

2 weeks over Christmas and New year (closed)

15 hours of funded childcare over 38 weeks (term time) equates to 570 funded childcare hours a year. Under our stretched offer this equates to 12.39 hours of funded childcare a week over 46 weeks of the year.

30 hours of funded childcare over 38 weeks (term time) equates to 1,140 funded childcare hours a year. Under our stretched offer this equates to 24.78 hours of funded childcare a week over 46 weeks of the year.

At Carol Jane Nursery, the funded entitlement covers statutory childcare as detailed in the early years foundation stage framework between the hours of 8am and 2pm, it does not include food, consumables or any additional services that we offer. These services are all included in the Fees detailed above.

Employer Assistance

Employers are increasingly offering support for childcare through childcare voucher schemes. The money comes directly off your salary before deductions, giving you savings on tax and National Insurance contributions. You should ask your employer if this is a benefit offered.

We accept most childcare vouchers, which are paid directly to CLNS and are offset against your monthly fee invoice.

Tax Free Childcare

Support for working families with children under 12. For every £8 you pay in, the government will add an extra £2, up to £2,000 per child, per year. Visit the Childcare Choices website for more information: http://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk
